Leader Talkers

Kamen Donev
Kamen Donev is a Bulgarian actor, film director, dramaturgist, and choreographer. Donev studied acting at NATFIZ, graduating in 1993. Between 1994 and 2009, he was an actor in the Bulgarian Army Theatre. In 2000 and 2001, Donev was part of the cast of the TV show "The Street", which was directed by Tedy Moskov. He is well-known for his comic sketches and theatrical comedies.
Solomon Passy
Solomon Isaac Passy is a Bulgarian scientist, politician, and innovator, founder and President of the Atlantic Club of Bulgaria (since 1990), Foreign Minister in the Government of Simeon Sakskoburggotski (2001-2005), Chairman-in-Office of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) in 2004. He represented Bulgaria at UN Security Council and was its Chairman (September 2002 and December 2003), and was nominated by Bulgaria for Secretary General of NATO (2009).
Julieta Serafimova
Julieta Serafimova has over 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry. She has joined NIKMI JSCo, owning company of city hotel group in 2003, before the opening of its first hotel in the capital - 5-star Grand Hotel Sofia, as its Director of Sales. In 2009 she has been promoted to the position of hotel General Manager, and in 2013 with the opening of third hotel, she has been appointed as a General Manager of the company Sofia Hotels Management.
Vassil Terziev
Vassil Terziev is a co-Founder and co-CEO of Telerik where he played an instrumental role in growing the company from a small startup in Bulgaria in 2002 to a leading global enterprise software vendor with 9 offices in 7 countries and more than 130,000 customers, including more than 450 of the Fortune 500®. Terziev's vision and dedication led Telerik to a solid track record of revenue growth and profitability in the ever changing software industry. Following Telerik’s acquisition by Progress Software (NASDAQ: PRGS) in December 2014, Vassil now serves as Chief Innovation Officer of the parent company where he is responsible for identifying growth strategies and new market opportunities, as well as promoting internal innovation. Terziev earned his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from the American University of Bulgaria, and held diverse roles in companies ranging from real estate and investment, to high-tech.

Maxim Eshkenazy
Eshkenazy divides his time between guest conducting and outreach engagements in the United States, his native country of Bulgaria and abroad. Recent guest conducting credits include New West Symphony in California, Huntsville Symphony Orchestra in Alabama, the Sibelius Academy Symphony Orchestra in Finland and the National Symphony Orchestra in Costa Rica. Maxim Eshkenazy lives in Los Angeles and spends a lot of his time working with young musicians. Deeply attached to teaching, he leads several youth orchestras in Southern California with the purpose of enabling young people to gain orchestral experience and savour the unique feeling of orchestral music making. Maxim Eshkenazy works at the Colburn School of Performing Arts, where he is currently music director, conductor of the Chamber Orchestra, and conductor of the symphony orchestra as well as assistant conductor of the Colburn Conservatory Orchestra. Under his leadership, in September 2010 the Colburn Orchestra performed a series of concerts during a tour in his native Bulgaria. Maxim Eshkenazy is also music director and conductor of the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Bakersfield, which in 2011 carried out an extremely successful tour in South Korea, as well as music director of the Irvine Classical Players Orchestra & Seraphim Symphony, which in 2012 performed a concert tour in the UK - London, Edinburgh, Bristol and Oxford. He was also guest - conductor of the West Symphony, guest - conductor of the Symphony Orchestra of Huntsville, Alabama and Sibelius orchestra. In 2012 he conducted the National Symphony Orchestra of Costa Rica. Following the success for Fortissimo Fest, Eshkenazy launched Fortissimo in Class: a program that brings professional musicians to 32 schools throughout the country. Musicians teach the children about musical instruments as well as classical music greats. In 2012 Eshkenazy launched Fortissimo Family, offering a series of accessible and engaging concerts to families with children.

Anton Hekimyan

Anton Hekimyan is a Bulgarian journalist leading the most watched morning show on air - "Tazi sutrin"("This Morning") on bTV. Led by him, "This Morning" team has been able to break the standard framework of the morning block, introducing a number of innovative production solutions in the last few years. They are changing the media environment by responding to the growing need and opportunities to engage viewers as active participants in public dialogue. In addition to successfully tackling one of the biggest challenges in television journalism, as a presenter on a three-hour daily live broadcast, Anton Hekimyan is actively involved in events and causes, and is personally involved in solving viewers' issues, which are symptomatic of more serious breakdowns in social processes and the work of the government. Traditionally, Anton Hekimyan is also the host of the special election studios on bTV.

Evgenia Peeva
Evgenia Peeva-Kirova is the Founder of Teach For Bulgaria. She launched Teach For Bulgaria and recruited the start-up team in the summer of 2010 with the generous support of America for Bulgaria Foundation. Prior to that, right after graduating from college, Evgenia worked as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company where she advised companies in the technology, pharmaceuticals,industrial electronics, and non-profit sector on strategy, marketing, sales, and operations. Evgenia graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Studies from Harvard College, Cambridge, Massachusetts in 2008. Her senior thesis focused on exploring the factors and impact of institutional entrepreneurship in university reforms in post-1989 Central Eastern Europe. In 2007, Evgenia co-founded the Step for Bulgaria Foundation, a volunteer driven initiative which engages young and seasoned professionals in supporting skills development and personal growth of youth living without parental care. In 2018 she was named Young manager of the year in Bulgaria from Evrika Foundation which made her the first manager of NGO to receive the prestigious award. Evgenia was voted also Woman of the Year in the Community category in 2012 and listed in various prestigious rankings, incl: the Forbes Bulgaria ranking 30 under 30 in 2013, Darik Radio ranking 40 under 40 in 2014 and various rankings of most influential women in Bulgaria.

Kiril Petkov

Kiril Petkov is another Harvard graduate where he was the best of his course. There, he is taught personally by Professor Michael Porter, who specializes in developing cluster strategies. After returning to Bulgaria he started his own investment company investing in young technology companies in Eastern Europe. Another company he founded is ProViotic, a vegan probiotic manufacturer that is based on a bacterial strain in Bulgarian yogurt. In May 2015, ProViotic became the most expensive and marketed nutritional supplement in New York. At the same time, Mr. Petkov is one of the three founders of the Center for Economic Strategy and Competitiveness, a bridge between Bulgarian students and the Harvard Institute for Economic Strategies and Competitiveness. Last but not least, he is one of the founders of the civil platform MOVE.BG, which works actively for the development and prosperity of Bulgaria.

Iravan Hira
Iravan Hira is the CEO of Hewlett Packard Enterprise, operated by Selectium. Prior to this position, he was a General Manager of Hewlett Packard Enterprise for Bulgaria (HPE) and of Hewlett Packard Global Delivery Center Bulgaria. He works in HP since the establishment of the company in Bulgaria in 1998 and he was dedicated to various positions within the company - from sales to management. For the extraordinary results accomplished he was twice awarded with a membership in the "Club of the winners" in HP. He has a Major Degree in Computing Technologies in the Technical University in Sofia.

Ani Hira

In her career, Ani Hira has held various managerial and administrative roles in various organizations - starting from Bulgarian companies, continuing through various international and corporate structures. She is showing that it is possible to maintain the "human image" even within the corporate environment by managing a team of 100+ people. After accumulating experience in large structures, she continues his professional development as a coach for Dale Carnegie in Bulgaria, sharing values ​​and successful models related to building sustainable relationships. Prior to this position, she was the Executive Director of the company’s Bulgarian branch. Konstantin Vulkov

One familiar voice, one memorable face and one beautiful mind that we are sure everyone knows. Konstantin Vulkov is the Program Director of Darik Radio. He graduated from the French High School in Sofia, later becoming a Master's in Socio-economic Policy, Transport and Telecommunications of France. Specializes in Deutche Welle Programs. Participates in Reuters Journalism Training in the UK and South Africa. He has specialized four times in Maastricht and Brussels on European Journalism Center programs. Kosio is a political correspondent for Bulgaria from 2001 to 2003 on the Prague-based online newspaper Transitions Online. From 1996 to 2001 he was an Internet editor at Egoist Magazine. Editor of British Airways Magazine 2005. Program Director of Retro Radio from 2001 to 2006.

Magarditch Halvadjian
Magarditch Halvadjian is a TV and movie producer and director. He has been actively involved in directing since 1992, and is among the most recognized names in the history of the Bulgarian film industry. He is of Armenian descent and born in Pleven. He graduated from the New Bulgarian University with a Directing Mastership and later taught “Directing and Production in The TV Show-business” at the same university. In 1996, he established “Max Group - 1”, which produced the TV shows “Crossing Point” and “Fatal Attraction”. During this period he shot most of his music videos. In 2002 he founded the production companies “Global Films” and “Global Frame”, “Open Frames”, lineal heir to “Global Group”. In 2012 Magarditch Halvadjian and his associates established the “Open Frames” company, focused on film production. In 2015 the company shot its first movie called “Nightworld”. Main role in the movie had the American actor Jason London and his partner was the worldwide famous Robert Englund (Freddy Krueger). The next project for the company was the movie Havana Darkness - shot in the US and Cuba - that is the first in history horror movie shot in Cuba. In the fall of 2016 “Open Frames” produced and shot Welcome to Acapulco. The shooting took place in Mexico, Acapulco and New York, US. Main cast includes Michael Madsen, William Baldwin and Paul Sorvino. In the summer of 2017 he shot a short comedy - The Elephone Man, which he wrote and directed. The film was selected by several international film festivals in the US and Europe. Magarditch Halvadjian was a chairman of the Movie and Television Producers Association from 2009 to 2012. In 2014, he became co-founder and member of the Management board of the Film Committee Association of Bulgaria A year later, in 2015 he was honored with the title “Academic” from the Bulgarian Academy of Science and Art. In the end of 2016 Magarditch Halvadjian received a badge of honor “Golden Century” by the Ministry of Culture for his outstanding contribution to Bulgarian culture and the development of cultural cooperation. He was awarded the “Best TV producer” by Darik radio’s “Man of the year”. In the autumn of 2017, Magarditch Halvadjian produced a TV series “Suburban Cops”, by the original Spanish TV series “Los Hombres de Paco”.

Dimitur Stanchev

Dimitar was born in Sofia and immigrated to Canada at the age of 25. In Canada, he developed a successful real estate and construction business. After the regime change in Bulgaria, in 1992 he returned to Bulgaria and invested in various sectors, developed different entrepreneurship projects. He started the bottling and export of "Nevestina" Mineral Water to North America. He developed a supply and distribution network for LPG for Bulgaria. Invested and created TV shows - "The Nevada Super Show", "The Taxi Show", "The Gold Rush". Currently, most of his business is related to the production of electricity from renewable sources. Since 2006 he is the owner of the Srednogortsi Hydroelectric Power Plant. In 2008 he built the first photovoltaic park in the Balkans. His companies Eco Works Ltd. and Energy Investments AD are industry leaders. His latest business passion is investing in IT companies and startups. This is something that really interests and motivates him. He is the chairman of the Association of Gas and Oil Companies and Traders. One of the founders, CEO and honorary chairman of the Association of Television and Film Producers.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dessislava Boshnakova is a lecturer in PR at New Bulgarian University, and is currently a student in theater directing at NBU. She is the owner and manager of the boutique PR agency ROI Communication, which publishes specialized literature in Bulgarian. Blogger, zealous TED fan, organizer of TEDxNBU until 2016, organizer of TEDxSofia 2017, lecturer at professional conferences, loves gingerbread, dessert wines, writing books, doing documentary and improvisation theater and many other things. She has been a guest lecturer at universities in the US, Finland, Macedonia and Greece. Andre Tokev
Andre Tokev is the only Global Masterchef Degree winner in Eastern Europe. He is the founder of the Bulgarian Association of Professional Chefs (BAPG), officially the jury of the most prestigious competition for professional chefs in Europe - Bocuse d'Or and the holder of the only Eastern European diploma Global Masterchef Degree Andre was born in Leipzig in a family of a Bulgarian and a German. His career started in some of the major hotel chains around the world, two of which are Michelin-starred. Since 2000 he has been a chef at Hilton in France, Austria and Bulgaria. He cooked for celebrities like Bill Clinton, Angela Merkel, Val Kilmer, John Kerry, Faithless, Dustin Hoffman, Sharon Stone, Jean Claude Van Damme and many more. He manages his ANDRé restaurant, as well as the latest concept spot called Old is New, combining a restaurant, bar, gallery and social space, developed in collaboration with his daughter, Eliza.

Daniel Radoikov

Daniel Radoikov is Senior Business Consultant at Paraflow Communications Ltd. - a Bulgarian company that is among the 5 largest system integrators in Bulgaria. Elvin Guri is an investor and entrepreneur with more than 15 years of successful track record in banking and private equity. As an investor and adviser, Elvin has been involved in deals in the financial institutions sector (Czech Republic, Ukraine, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Albania, Macedonia), in technology and biotechnology (Switzerland, Bulgaria), in healthcare and food industry (Bulgaria), and the real estate sector (USA).
